Worship is a great way to grow in faith! When you walk into St. Paul's, you'll be welcomed by people who genuinely care about you! And worshiping with them will encourage you and you'll be supporting them. All the words to the service will be in the bulletin and on the screens so you can engage your spirit. After all, worship isn't a "spectator sport!"
We will pray and learn from the Bible. Sure it's an ancient book, but God has spoken through the words of Scripture for thousands of years, and we still hear new insights as we bring our lives to the Bible. The Bible brings old wisdom to our modern lives.
St. Paul's also celebrates weekly communion, to which all are invited. Jesus encouraged everyone who wants to be closer to him to join in this simple meal of bread and wine (or grape juice). Jesus reminded us that by eating the bread we remember his love by giving his body for us. And in drinking the wine we remember his love by dying on the cross for us. If this is new to you, we'd love to talk further about this!
St. Paul's currently offers two worship styles, because He made us all different.
The 8:00 am Traditional Sunday Service is more classic, using a variety of settings and traditional music from Lutheran hymnals and other worship resources. Services include a children's message, scripture readings, responsive prayers, sermon, and music by choirs accompanied by piano and organ. Communion is celebrated every Sunday.
The 10:30 am Contemporary Sunday Service is a less-formal service led by a spirited praise band consisting of guitars, keyboard, drums and other modern instruments. The music is joyful and easy to sing. This service also includes a children's message, scripture readings, responsive prayers, sermon, and Communion is also celebrated every Sunday.
Both services use screens in the worship space so we can worship with our eyes in addition to our voices.
Rejoicing Spirits is held the second Sunday of every month at 4 pm. This is an innovative ministry started at St. Paul's to enrich the spiritual lives of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, their families, friends and other supportive community members. Learn more here
